About
A small company where the owner is on the job
Manta Ray Fencing LLC was registered in Tallahassee on 2 April 2021 by Raymond Glidewell. Four years, four counties, and 73 reviews at 5.0. Most of those reviews are not about the fence. They are about who showed up to build it.
01 / The man
We would rather let the customers describe him
Four different people, over three years, describing the same thing without being asked to. That is worth more than a paragraph we wrote about ourselves.

He was quick to point out that he would be on site and doing the job himself with his team. I think that is what closed the deal for me. Having the owner of the company doing the work brings the process to a whole new level and you can see it in the craft.

We keep going back to Ray because we know he is a true professional who asks us what we want, gives us the options, adds his own thoughts and then creates a solid masterpiece, every time, all in the time frame that he promises us.

I had tried for a couple of years to find somebody who would respond to my request for building a fence. Nobody wanted to follow through. I found Ray to be an honest guy eager to get the work done.

You can tell he knows what he is doing by how he planned it out and made suggestions about where to put the fence and how to get around trees.

That is the whole official record and we are not going to inflate it. Four years is four years. What sits underneath it is a way of building that is written down in detail on how we build, so that anybody can hold this company to it.
03 / The bargain
What you are actually buying
A fence is mostly buried. Once it is finished, the only part you can inspect is the pickets, and a good fence and a bad one look identical for the first two or three years. By the time the difference shows, whoever built it has been gone a long while.
So the only honest way to sell one is to publish what goes in the ground and invite you to check it. That is why this site carries post depths, spacings, fastener types, the standards they come from, and links to the documents. It is also why there is a page here that teaches you how to grade a fence quote, including ours, and why we tell you which jobs we are not the right call for.
None of that is generosity. It is the only argument a four year old company can make against a thirty year old one, and it only works if every part of it is true.
